Poetic tonE
Hi, my name is Tony HouaMouaVang, or otherwise known as Poetic tonE. Some people also call me P.t. to shorten it all up. I am currently 17 years old and have been working on trying to swim to the mainstream music industry for about 2 years on; December 21, 2010. Though it has been 2 years now, it all feels like it was only yesterday that I fell in love with music.
It all started when I was 10, listening to Hip Hop, R&V, and rap music that I pumped out of mt tiny FM radio. The first rapper that I ever opened my ears to listen to was Tupac Amaru Shakur. Although I was young and naive, I sensed a great expression of emotions that Mr. Shakur displayed in his songs. Also I could relate to his songs because they dealt with everyday life struggles. He was my inspiration to begin a life of poetry.
Though Mr. Shakur was the spark that got my fire started, what I needed was the fuel to make that spark burst into flames. I got exactly what I needed when my father past away in December of 2003. Only 10 and a half, I didn't know what to do except cry. But I no longer wanted to cry in front of the people who's around me, so what did I do? I grabbed sheets of paper and a few pencils, and started to write. I never did keep anything that I wrote because I was afraid of being mocked by whoever it may be that finds my poems. What I wrote never made any sense nor was they on topic, but as time progresses on and life gets harder. I got better and better. I was then able to recite whatever it was that I wrote from the top of my mind as well as construct poems in the matter of minutes. Years past on and I'm still writing poems by the page, but it came to a new start in introducing those poems to music.
I didn't start flowing and rapping until late sophomore year of high school when my two older brothers bought a mic set for my brother and I. This stage was the hardest to adapt to because there were so many things to learn and improve on. The first 30 songs that I made were terrible and just an epic fail. But I wasn't about to give up. I sought out every opportunity that I could get my hands on. Rapping for free at concerts, talent shows, public events, at the malls, and even out on the streets. Within these 2 years, I have made 2 mix-tapes: "Where It All Begins" & "Still It Continues". Though I have little to no support, other than family and friends, I'm pushing harder then I've ever pushed before. I don't do it only for myself, but I do it all for my family and the ones that I love.
