Penny AKA Anthony Ferr?t is a DJ/Beatmaker/Music Producer from the South Pacific. Born in Australia to a Pastor Father and Registered Nurse Mother, Penny with his brother and sister grew up in the South Pacific Islands of Pitcairn and Papua New Guinea in which he calls home, doing Mission work. A small stent in Mackay and now residing back in Sydeny. He has had a very Blessed life.
Being the son of a very Musically Talented Father, he started playing Music at the age of 4, but got into more seriously at the age of 12. He took up DJing at 16 and continued till he started to get the Production itch and slowly got into Beatmaking, Composition and Producing.
Playing Saxophone, Piano, Drums, anything Percussive and multiple other instruments, or pretty much anything he can get his hands on to make some noise with, Penny is a multi-instrumentalist. He is also very eclectic with Music, and has a Great Love for all styles, sounds and genres. There is nothing that he doesn't or won't listen to.
In December 2003 after studying and doing his On-Air Radio Presenters Training, Penny moved from Sydney to Mackay, Qld where he continued to work as a DJ. Over his 5 year period there, but more so during his last 3 years, he came to be known and recognized as one of the best DJ's around. Playing every gig possible from Parties to Weddings to Private Functions.
Specially known on the Streets and amongst the Islander and Indigenous communities, Penny is the guy to call when you want a Party.
Known for his Unique Deck Skills, Inventive and Original Mix Sets, Incredible Track Knowledge and ability to talk to a Crowd, he very quickly became booked out on weekends and known to have thrown some of the Biggest Parties in Mackay History.
In 2008 Penny founded NBF Recordz (Nuthin' But Flava). A small Independent Record Label as a home for the Music and Artists he Produces, but also a home for anyone wanting to come and try. "Music is one of the hardest industries to be in, and it's so hard to get that first chance." So NBF was made so that people could get that chance, could have a go. To come and see what it's like to work on and Create Songs, Cultivate your Style and Skills, and learn about the Music Industry.
"Doesn't matter what style you are or what you do. Weather you sing, write, perform, play, rap or what ever, in Absolutely any genre. When it's here, it's Nuthin' But Flava."
Penny has worked with local Australian Artitst JB, Brisbane Hip Hop Group Nehii, and with his first "Flava" signee, Romulus. He has also Scored and Composed 3-4 shorts films and one medium length film for Arts Company Crossroads in Mackay, Qld. He also Recorded, Edited and Post-Produced a 5 part Radio Soap Opera for Crossroads called "Caravans" in which he also Wrote, Produced and Performed the theme song.
Now back in Sydeny and ready to work hard, Penny is studying Audio Engineering and Sound Production at the JMC Academy. This will hopefully teach him all of the so many many things he doesn't know about Music and Audio, so that he can work Professionally and try to make good Music.
But besides all the stuff he has been so Blessed to have done over the years, his main Loves are still going to Church on Sabbath to worship and Praise the one and only Lord God, chilling in his studio and spending time with his Loved Ones, Friends and Family.

Besides doin' gigs, makin' beatz and remixes, I don't really have much of a history, cept for bein' the best Scratch DJ in Mackay so far, that was pretty cool. But I would like to get a lil' more hopefully.

Man, I have so many, my biggest would be God. My greatest friend, who's always been there, and Blessed me with these talents.
My Dad, he's very musically talented, I get a lot from him (mad luv Dad).
For DJin', DJ's Moto, Nino Brown, Shorty, Peter Gunz, Tikelz, Demo, Mecca, Leon Smith, Lenno, Funk Masterflex, Jam Master Jay, Mixmaster Mike, QBert, Kool Herc, Maj, Rectangle, any DJ that has tried, everyone has their own style and skill.
With Producin' and makin' beatz. Just to name a few Darkchild, Timbaland, The Neptunes, fo sho Dr Dre, Swizz Beatz, Jermaine Dupri, Kanye West, Jazza Pha, Mannie Fresh, Eminem, J. Wess, Just Blaze, Kwame, Scott Storch, anyone who goes out and gives it a try, I have alot of respect for.
