Inspirations 1 - Grotesque Inspirations 1 - Grotesque

An experimental project we've been doing with Michal Mank - one of us writes a short piece, then the other one writes another one very loosely inspired by the previous one.

The Ducal Court The Ducal Court

Imagine a medieval court: people dancing, minstrels playing and then - the Duke arrives... Or You can just listen to the piece - it's all there.

My primary aim is composing and orchestral conducting. I also play piano - mostly classical music, but I'm also trying to put together a jazz trio along with my friends (effects of our efforts coming.. soonerish..).
Band/artist history
I started my musical education at the age of 7, which is the usual "going-to-school-age" in Poland. Since then I've had my ups and downs and here I am, in the last year of the 12 year long learning cycle.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Well, there's classical music concerts at my school, or ocasionally at the Lublin Philharmonics AND there's jazz concerts and jam sessions in pubs and other places. The first is stressful, requires a lot of work (months of practice), but in the end gives some satisfaction, if it goes well. The jazz thing on the other hand is much less stressful (due to company of friends - the percussionist and the basist - on stage), requires much less work (most of it is improvisation, and the rest is ideas, which take mere hours to perfect) and gives much more satisfaction - because you create something unique every time...
Your musical influences
John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith, Bernard Herrmann, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Sergei Prokofiev, Dmitri Shostakovich (apparently..), Alan Silvestri, Danny Elfman, Elliott Goldenthall, Ludwig van Beethoven, Howard Shore, Wojciech Kilar
What equipment do you use?
Windows PC, EWQL Symphonic Orchestra Gold +Pro XP, various microphones (ranging from these crappy computer mics to anything good I'm able to borrow), my own voice, sounds of different things arround me, some public domain sound fx and generally anything that comes in handy ^^
Anything else?
I hope You'll like my music AND will be able to sleep well after listening to it ;P Cheers!
