The journey first began in the summer of 2006, consisting of Cody House (vocals, guitars), Vince Tarlton (bass), and Brad Aitchison (drums). The trio began writing their own material and playing shows under various band names until they settled upon the name of Paradox Hotel as of mid 2007. As Paradox Hotel, the band continued to play more shows gaining experience, as well as carving a niche within the local music scene. Gaining a following, the aspiring young musicians headed into the studio to record their first E.P. at Tyneside Studios. Pleased with the results, and at a creative peak, the boys decided to add four more tracks to the already five song E.P., now known as “This is Where The End Begins”. During the time in the studio, Paradox hotel was asked by producer Jeremy Royce to appear on forthcoming compilation, “Making Contact”, with their song “Synesthesia”. Paradox Hotel continued to thrive with a series of high energy shows including the annual City Kidz charity event, as well as supporting the local arts, by playing at Sin Circus II raising funds for Hamilton Artist Inc. After finishing up run of shows the boys decided to take a short hiatus in late 2008. Concentrating and fine tuning their song writing, in order to establish a more mature sound. Also during this time the band came to a shift in dynamics, with the addition of bassist, Andrew Gibbons, and Vince’s transition to guitar, the band was ready to flourish again. Now with the change in the line-up, an arsenal of new songs, and under new management, Paradox Hotel is ready to become the proverbial meat thrown amongst the hungry dogsand we all know how hungry they are for fresh meat.
