PIrate B.A.E.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
PIrate B.A.E. (Before Anything Else) is a hip hop artist born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. Relocating to Baltimore, Maryland as a teenager, He was already in a rap quartet with his own siblings that rhymed under the name "Naughty Ghetto".
Living in Baltimore County, he befriended a few friends who also wrote raps as well as recorded them. They rapped under the name "Chronically Ill". The trio eventually went under a starting label called "C&G Productions" After a few tracks, some personal bouts, and a diss track, he slowly dropped out of the label and started his solo career.
Around that time another member of Chronically Ill, branched off to do a solo career after one of his songs caught the attention of A&R and Chairman of StreetLife ENT "Derrick Zimmerman". He began booking shows for the artist "Hostile". Bae pitched his music to Zimmerman and was signed the next day. There was a point where Zimmerman and Hostile had creative and financial disagreements, causing them to part ways. Bae stayed and recorded a few songs before the label disbanded due to Zimmermans financial woes.
He was already inspired heavily after seeing a rapper on the school television who was on his come up and doing big things. The artist went by the name "Di$e Man". He was backed by a big team named "Southpaw ENT" founded by Chris Beezy (R.I.P.). A year after graduating high school, Bae spent hours in library researching Southpaw. Watching their videos, listening to their sound and understanding the talent behind a strong quartet like Youngin Famous (FAME), Kidd Duece, Big Rob and Di$e Man himself.
At that time Di$e Man was dating a close friend of PIrates who became more of a sister as the years went on. His wife now Jewelz, told PIrate that he should go solo and do his own thing. All he could think about was being added to the roster of great artistry. He started recording with Rapper and Producer "Big Hav" and rapper FATTS on a slew of industry beats.
Bae recorded a freestyle track over Teiarra Maris "Make Her Feel Good" and gave it to Di$e Man one night after hanging throughout with one another along with Jewelz.
The next day Di$e Man met up with Bae, told him how he woke up brother and labelmate Youngin Famous at 1 a.m. to listen to the track. He asked Bae about what happened with C&G. When Bae explained that they were on two different plateaus, Di$e Man told Bae that he had a home for him right with him. He was starting a new movement at the time called "All Or Nothin". It was a brand, a sound, art, life all in one.
Di$e Man, Chris Beezy and his family welcomed Bae with open arms and planned to release a compilation mixtape entitled "Tha Legacy", A.O.N.s official debut. As the mixtape was in the recording stages, Bae was only able to record one verse due to his personal life taking turns for the worst. He pushed to redeem himself by recording another track with with former SOUTHPAW/A.O.N. member "Kidd Duece" and two other artist for an A&R that pitched sour deals and didn't deliver.
Southpaw ENT and A.O.N. linked up with super producer "FlightBoy" who had his own method, madness, studio, and resume. From "Flightboy Music" to "GMG", he had a plan. As he began to formulate his plan, Bae had lost his focus after his mother grew sick. His personal woes got the best of him, and he slowly began to fade from the light that South Paw and A.O.N worked to achieve.
Years went by and Bae released music very rarely. After many attempts to get on track Bae linked up with artist "Dyce City" and began recording music with him and artist "KYNG KILLA" while remaining a solo artist. They released music, shot small videos, and performed at a few venues. The former duo known as "Black Squad" were working on a project with Bae as one of the collaborations before the two artist went their separate ways.
Bae later on met artist BHRell of the thriving, and most anticipated Baltimore raised group Dav1s7on (Davision 17) . As his group went on the rise, with the push of "Billy Lyve", CEO of "Wisdom Court ENT", Bae and BHR formed a bond on and off of music. Bae spent years rapping his new material for BHR and after 5 years, BHR started his own movement, his own brand "BHLOCKBHOYINC" better known as B.B.I., backed by Wisdom Court and Billy Lyve himself. The first two artist he signed were KYNG KILLA and PIrate B.A.E.
BAE is currently working on his 2019 debut EP "Medusa Music".
