Neon Dream
I create music and art, i consider both to be a unity, i don't hold to specific styles and will explore mainly electronic instrumental musical styles. Under the name Neon Dream i will be unifying all my musical output and remixing and remastering with a number of collaborators in the future.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Started in art, then in the 80's and 90's had a number of home studios exploring synth/pop and new age styles of music, mainly analogue gear with 4 and 8-track recording. Left music to explore art once more and then returned this year in a much reduced hardware capacity to record music for fun as soft-synths make it all space saving these days.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I don't gig, Neon Dream is a studio project with purely audio/visual output.
Your musical influences
Mainly electronic instrumental influences such as Tangerine Dream, Yanni, Kraftwerk, Ian Boddy, Orb but Chemical Bothers amongst many others.
What equipment do you use?
Just various Software synth/sequencers, i7 based computer and countless sample libraries. I keep it basic because i had my fill of synth and other music hardware collecting in the 80's and 90's.
Anything else?
Previously released two cds 'Crying Earth' and 'Abstract Life' under the name Bodymelt, these are to be remastered and re-released under the new Neon Dream name followed by a brand new CD release and other art projects and websites.
