Hailing from Bennettsville, South Carolina, Neesha the most talented and unique individual to rise from the streets of Bennettsville. She has built an image to become one of the most successful up and coming artist of that region with the necessary drive and talent to succeed in the music industry. With an incredible work ethic, and strong determination, Neesha has accomplishments as a recording artist and as a performer that are extraordinary considering the many obstacles she?s had to overcome. Twenty two year old innovative song writer and performer, Latasha Pegues began the pursuit of her music career at age 6 joining her father?s band (starlight choir) and opening shows for prominent organizations such as, South Carolina Black Caucus, The NAACP, local churches, and the State Senators Convention to sing the National Anthem at their annual galas. At age of 12, she was introduced to manager Cheryl Butler and joined the group Rain. The all girl trio was fortunate to grace the ears of many record executives, but sadly broken up in 1999. In 2000 she decided to launch her solo career with Black Wax Entertainment in Brooklyn, NY, where she was introduced to Vincent Herbert of Black Ground Records (formerly label of R&B singer Aayliah), where she began working with the popular executive. Neesha has always had an ambition to deliver a strong voice and her experiences to the world through the art of music and the culture of soul. Neesha is the most talented female artist in which her sound has been compared to artist such as Chaka Khan, Toni Braxton & Mary J Blige just to name a few. This is only one of the many statements made to compliment her style and performance. Between the stage and the microphone is something this powerful artist could never get enough of while strengthening her credibility as a performer. Her father and late mother who has been a great influence in her life mentored this young female to be a strong, determined, self efficient woman encouraging her to pursue all dreams she can possibly accomplish. ?My Dad is the strongest most dedicated individual I know?. If it weren?t for him being the person he is I wouldn?t be the person I am?. He is what motivates me in every thing I do explains Neesha. In January 2007; she was introduced to Ova Tha Top Entertainment and began working on her very first album ?A Dairy of a Woman Scorn?, which ten songs she wrote on the album. January 2008, she signed a management contract with Lucky 12 Records & Management to jump start her new found career, since her signing with Lucky 12 Records, she has had the opportunity to open for several national acts such as Tank, KI C, Yolanda Addams, Tom Joyner Morning Show, Pleasure P, South Carolina Phantoms, and Swiss Beats. She has performed at many venues, charity events throughout her region. This Soulful Songstress is ready to start a new phase in her career, her self title track " Breathe? gives listeners a diverse sound of Pop/Soul/Funk/Hip Hop. Neesha is continuously working to perfect a unique and diverse sound that will speak for who Neesha really is. From Pop, funk, Hip Hop, club bangers, and reality songs, this female definitely is on top of her game. Neesha continues to write her own songs, perform captivating shows, and grow while preparing herself for the world of mainstream.
