Ophelia Brown is a violinist who has been playing since she was a little girl. She has just recently decided to use her talents to make other's special day exactly as they want it. The Violinist has been playing the violin since she was a little girl. She studied violin under Rodica Weber, concert Master of The Houston Symphony for several years. In 1995, she placed in Region Orchestra in Texas. In 1997, she received a first place medal for her solo performance in Solo & Ensemble in Houston, TX. She placed 5th chair in Region Orchestra in Hattiesburg, MS in 2000. She studied violin at USM under Dr. Stephen Redfield and in 2002, she was named his most improved student. She was a member of the University of Southern Mississippi Symphony Orchestra from 2000-2005 as an undergrad and from 2009-2010 as she completed her Masters degree in Library and Information Science. She is author of two books of poetry, Phenomenally Me and Once Tangled Wings. She enjoys writing, singing, and performing poetry at Jitters in Laurel, MS, and playing violin for special events on occasion.Have you performed in front of an audience?I have enjoyed playing live at Centric Soul in Hattiesburg, MS @ 206 Front St. Restaurant, Jitter's Coffeehouse and Bookstore in Laurel, MS and Taste's Bar and Lounge in Hattiesburg, MS.
