Mr RJ
Robenson Jean-Baptiste, best known as Mr. RJ, started
playing the drums at the age of 4 in his home country of Haiti.
At the age of 10, he started playing in night clubs for
various bands. These clubs and the church were a great
influence on his musical style. At the age of 15,
Mr. RJ began performing with Strings, one of the best
known international bands. The band drastically
improved with Robenson's artistic style. After many
years with Strings, he moved to the U.S and began to
perform with the internationally renowned
Haitian band, Tabou Combo. Additionally, as he was
influenced by recording engineers, music producers,
and many other musicians he took on the role of music
producer at the age of 24. The word around the street:
he has a natural gift and the ear for music. He has also
played with Emiline Michelle, Bithova Oba,
Reginald Policard, and The Family of Widmear.
In addition to performing in the United States,
Mr. RJ amused audiences in Japan, Africa, Panama,
St Barths, Anguilla, Belguim, Germany, Chile, Mexico,
Leon, St. Lucia, Martinque, Santo Domingo, and France etc.
Robenson has been singing in churches since he was
very young, but was always encouraged to continue
playing the drums. When he reached adulthood, he
decided to take singing, writing, and producing as seriously
as the drums. Robenson is truly a talented artist and
one of the few remaining great romantics. His debut single
"I'm Fallin" has the streets talking of a new sound that
just can't be defined. There is just no comparison to what
Robenson has to offer to the world. This hot new artist has
got people hooked!
