Michael Notarthomas
I'm a singer-songwriter, guitarist and musician living in Central Texas. I play a variety of genres including folk rock, blues, country and standards.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I started playing and writing songs when I was 16 going on 17. Been doing it since. I'm somewhat prolific with my songwriting. I'm also a seasoned guitar player and can play in many styles. I'm not a technical guitar player. I play by ear and feeling.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I've played many many times in front of many audiences.
Your musical influences
Not sure who my influences are. For songwriting and vocals probably John Lennon, Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello, Elton John, REM, Graham Parker, Arthur Alexander, James Taylor. For guitar playing probably Otis Rush, Jimmie Vaughan, Eddie Van Halen.
What equipment do you use?
I have a bunch of guitars. I use whatever.
Anything else?
Just trying to get my music out there. It's a big field with lots of players.
