This "band page" is specifically for an album I assembled in 1994. The last several recordings are from 4-track tape in the '80s (summer of '88, mostly) and the rest are digitally recorded in the very early '90s. I thought this album and most of the songs in it were lost forever, and stumbled across it recently while looking through some old CDs! One track was withheld, because it is a "remix" of an existing worship song. Many of the songs on this page are "cut short" by SoundClick due to file size, but all the lyrics are included anyway. These are all old (rough) demos, but if there is interest, I could offer individual tracks for sale and make this a "VIP" site, so the tracks could be offered at full-length.
Band/artist history
Started playing piano and organ when I was very young. Took a handful of piano lessons in Grade school, started playing Alto Sax in 6th grade, Tenor Sax in 7th grade. Began recording with a portable tape player on my mom's organ in the mid '80s. Started renting 4-track tape recorders in '86 or '87, finally bought a Yamaha MT100 4-track tape recorder in '87 or '88, moved to digital (PC-based) recording in about '94, and the rest is history.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I lead an Alternative Worship Team and play in the other teams at my local church. I may end up playing live to support artists who I've produced CDs for in my home studio as well.
Your musical influences
People have said my music sounds like a variety of different things. Mostly I write an electronica-based "soundtrack" style of music, but this particular project is a touch more focused. Bands that have been mentioned when listening to this project are: DePeche Mode, Peter Gabriel, Queensryche, Pink Floyd, and a few others.
What equipment do you use?
Most of this project was recorded with: Roland JX-305 Groovesynth, Korg X3R, Alesis MicroVerb 4, Digitech MIDI Vocalist, Peavey Line 8 mixer, M-Audio Audiophile USB and Cool Edit Pro. The later pieces were recorded much earlier and generally include: Ensoniq Mirage rack, Siel DK80, a couple cheap mics, Boss PS-2 pitch shifter/delay guitar pedal and a Yamaha MT100 4-track tape recorder.
