Band/artist history
Dennis Taylor, aka Mfoe, offers hip hop lovers an uncensored sound that is refreshing and cleanly produced. Born in Compton, California, near LA, Mfoe was ready to rap by the time he was 17, when his Mom bought him a Gateway and a microphone, and his natural talent was uncovered. He set out to mix and compose his music from that time on and has only grown in popularity and skill. Born July 15, 1984, Mfoe relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, when the artist was 18, and he continued to pursue his music and refine his skills as an engineer, producer and editor. Collaborating with local talent in Atlanta, Mfoe perfected his art and played at local gigs, as well as recording other rappers at his home-based studio. Once again relocating to Bowling Green, Florida, Mfoe hooked up with friends and local rappers Lil Dogg and Druski, collaborating on two recorded mixtapes entitled Gang Green Vol. 1 & 2. The rappers received a lot of positive local feedback, but outgrew each other in time, and for creative reasons, they separated. Mfoe then moved to Tampa, Florida, to continue pursuing his music. Another close friend, Mick B, a rapper of Spanish influence, got together next with Mfoe and the two created a Best of Both mixtape, combining a Latin influence with the traditional hip hop. They were received well by audiences all over and the Best of Both CD was quite successful. MFOE continues to write, mix and produce his music, standing firmly on his own talent and success. His musical influences include: Canibus, 2pac, Jay-Z, Dr Dre, Joe Buddens, Nas and Snoop dogg but he has developed his own unique style beyond what these musicians offer. Graphically designing and marketing his own style and sound, Mfoe has launched his music onto the web and continues to enjoy success as thousands of listeners download his mixes. You can download the music at www.myspace.com/mfoemusic and listen to why he is becoming the latest rage in the rap and hip hop industry. Listen to the new CD released on November 1, 2008, and be on the lookout for the much anticipated follow up to be released sometime next year. Downloads are FREE and your support is appreciated. Let’s put Mfoe on the charts!
