Memorex

I'm a rapper from UK, producer and also composer. I make my own everything, with very few exceptions. I'm a boom-bap rapper, but it's my own version of the style, since I merge gothic music with my beats. I am the creator of Gothic Rap, my own distinct subgenre of horrorcore.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I was always music inclined. But in 1999 I grabbed a copy of an Eminem album that hooked me into rap for the rest of my life. I began writing my own bars shortly after. My first single was released on cassette tape in 2001, it was called "I Tried Sis", and was about a dude who's sister is an alcoholic so he helps fix the issue by beating her to death. I used to perform under the name Sweet Rapper for my first single... you can even hear me call myself that in the lyrics to that song. People remarked that my alias was way to soft for the type of lyrics I was spitting, so I changed it to Ajax, aka Memorex.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?

I've been around for 20 years and I plan to re-release all my back catalogue since 2000. You prepared for that? I hope so. Also my new album Requiem Of The Vampire is in the works. It's gonna be sick, featuring some great guests.
