Makgalakwe Mokete is the member of Afro-pop group Brownshugga and a lead vocalist of Moshito Wa Lenyalo music project. She was born in the village of ga-Masemola in October 02, 1994. At the age of 14 she formed an Afro-pop group called DMP Girls. They recorded some couple of songs and performed at local gigs for free. Unfortunately the group collapsed due to school commitments. Her love for music prompted her to join Moshito Wa Lenyalo as a dancer and a lead vocalist. In 2014 she got a lead role during the production of local film Cheezboy. During the recording of Cheezboy soundtracks, she met rappers Steexmon also from Masemola as well as Lion from Phokwane and the trio decided to form vibrant group Brownshugga. Following the success of Brownshugga, Makgalakwe released her first Manyalo music solo titled Ring Ya Lenyalo. The album made her name bigger around Sekhukhune but she was not comfortable as majority of female artists started to simulate her style and in most cases pretended to be Makgalakwe selling CDs with her name. Following the expiry of her manyalo contract at Kokoto Produxionz, she decided to negotiate for a new agreement which will enable her to revert to her original Afropop style and as a result, Matrimony album of 10 tracks was recorded in January 2018.
Makgalakwe's musical talent was discovered by Monamodi Talana, the owner of neighbourhood studio which was just stone-throw away from her home. Ever since she recorded a Kwaito demo at Talana's studio, she became one of the most popular artist in Limpopo Province and now a household name in South Africa.
First promotional performance was organised by Jimmy Moshidi during Heritage day.
