Maite Itoiz and John Kelly

We are two musicians, singers and producers, our live show "Tales from the Secret Forest" blends Neoclassic music with Folk-Celtic-Rock, New Age, Electronic, Gothic, Middle Age, and Renaissance music, together with a fantasy story that introduces us humans into the world of faeries (and faeries into our world). The CD of this show had a very good response from the audience, getting in the official charts and climbing till the number one position in the main online shops.
Band/artist history
"Maite Itoiz and John Kelly" is right now one of the underground alternative bands with more sales of the country (Germany)... From zero, with no marketing support, they remained weeks and weeks in the German top 100 charts, selling a very big amount of CDs of "Tales from the Secret Forest" and reaching the number 1 in several online shops charts, like Amazon. Nowadays that's a big achievement, specially for a band which plays with Neoclassic, Celtic-Rock, fantasy and Early music, so called "non commercial" music... Maite is the producer of the band. Two classical complete careers done (classical guitar and lyric singing) and years performing as an opera singer with some of the most important singers of the world together with her very open mind for all musics make her compositions and arrangements sound big and magic, therefore she works most of the time at studio producing for different artists. Due to her studies and vocal experience performing in Early music ensembles, she inserts, with no fear, music starting from the Xll century in the live show, following the original scores and making the people clap and dance with it, as it is certainly a rock band which is playing on stage. Codex Calixtinus, Livre Vermell, Alfonso X, Juan del Enzina, surprisingly fit perfectly with the rest of the Celtic-rock and fantasy music program, making from "Tales from the Secret Forest" a unique act. John Kelly, that after 30 years of musical career sold over 20 million albums and 2,5 million music videos, adds his warm voice and charming look to the fantasy show. He performed together with artists like Lionel Richie, Pavarotti, Carreras, Joe Cocker or Elton John and got awards like the Echo, Goldene Kamera, Bambi, golden Otto, etc. Now he gives the show his knowledge of so many years and tries to stay independent, so no external labels change the essence of the Secret Forest. Also, its visually attractive concept, with own designed costumes, choreographies, the fairy tale that joins the whole show, the surprises with the radical music style changes, make the audience be in tension till the end of the show, when the "Solstice's night dance" brakes the barriers of both worlds joining humans and fairies dancing on stage.

Of course, mostly in central Europe. We love it!!! The special moment when the audience enters the Secret Forest and get caught by its magic.

great song i love it
The song is very good, conveying a touch of "Braveheart" or "Rob Roy" to the listener. However, if you are more for "raw power" with John and Maite's songs, you should rater opt for "The Force" (ode to the universe; seems to unleash the powers of the universe in a quite literal sense) or "Ich bekenne meine Schuld" (Maite's singing - especially live on stage - is raw power and you feel as if you were facing one of the old warrior godesses of Ireland, such as Bodb or Morrigan or the Lady of Avalon). Nevertheless - enjoy ;)
