Magnus Apollo - Steve Daley
Magnus Apollo music is honest, high energy, straight ahead progressive rock instrumental music with hooks. The pieces posted here are from the Opus 1 CD. With the exception of "Razors Edge" which is from the CD in progress called "Clear Signal Experiments". Which will be a selection of pieces I compose very quickly to provide time to experiment with a bunch of new gear, software etc. to see what kind of new sounds the studio setup will provide. I am doing this in preparation for my next Opus called "Ruthless Passion".
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Magnus Apollo is an ongoing of project of mine since 1987.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I do not play live now. I am a studio rat for now. I love playing live and hope to have my act together to play out next summer after finishing "Ruthless Passion". Special moments? I have been fortunate to have many over the years ... One that sticks out as surreal was several years ago - Playing a piece called "Sacred Heart" (Opus 1) at a Catholic school and seeing the wonderment in the eyes of all those teenage students all at once. They were fixated. When I finished the piece the applause was more like an explosion than clapping and cheering. That was a special moment for me.
Your musical influences
