MAI (Ger)

Mai is born October 1978 in East Germany , her Father already had a apply for an exit permit so it became that 9 years later her familiy had to leave from one day to the other East Germany within 24 hours. One year befor the Fall of the Wall. The Family did life the first weeks in reception camps but soon her Father found work in the shout-west of Germany where Mai raised up till the age of 18. During her whole childhood she never was really into school and high marks. She was simply a bold rantipole and daydreamer who always felt a deep wanderlust. And no, she did not make music at all, she wanted to but her father did say she is a awful singer and totally unmusical. Inbetween the age of 18 and 19 she started to train as a photographer and felt the first time in love. The relationship was short-lived but it was this Love who years later turned her whole life around and did bring the music in her life. With 20 years Mai became again itchy feet she did travel to France on the Atlantic Ocean and shortly after this Trip she found herself in Chicago. She worked as an Au-pair and after a few months she bought her first guitar from the money she put aside. She felt in love with differnt kind of Singer /Songwriter Music. And on a typical cold and windy day in Chicago, in streets full of Music, someone must seen her walking around with her Guitar and did make a choice. Back in Germany was it hard for the 21 year old one to settle in again. Since that a lot of things happend, she felt in love again with her first love, they moved together, she worked as a waitress and did take care of her sick Father. After 1,5 years and fateful circumstances they broke up again. After the lost of her one and only soulmate she started to write song over song. Because she could not get over it and could not live a normal Life anymore she decided once again to leave Germany. She lend some money and booked a flight to Spain. First she was located on the Island Mallorca. Mai found a job in a Hotel. The Director heard her one night singing and offert her to play her songs once a week on stage. Three months later she felt still restless and so she did travel to the Fuerteventura. First she worked in a Hotel again, than in a Surfcamp. During this time Music became her only purpose in life. This is now five years ago and as you can imagine the "Mai" Story is not finished yet. But to write the whole Story down over here would be go beyond the scope of this Page. Mai had to endure severe blows of fate but finally the music in her did win. The fight "to try to fit in a normal live" is over and by now Mai is since March 2008 in Berlin and recorded her first Album by a Co. Production.
