STATEMENT OF FAITH
We worship the one true God of scripture eternally manifested in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
THE BIBLE I embrace the Holy Bible as the infallible, inerrant, and inspired Word of God. We believe that it is literally, historically, scientifically, and spiritually true and significant. It is beneficial for doctrine, reproof, correction, and righteousness. (Deuteronomy 29:29, Romans 15:4, 2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:21)
JESUS CHRIST I embrace the literal virgin birth, sinless life, crucifixion, burial and resurrection of Christ as presented in the Gospels. I believe that Christ is the second person of the Trinity, the fulfillment of the law, mediator, finisher of our faith, and so much more. I believe the significance of the cross to be in the atonement, propitiation, substitution, reconciliation, and final sacrifice. I believe in the hypostatic union that Christ was fully God, and fully man, and in His preexistence in eternity.
THE FALL I embrace that since the Fall of Adam in the garden man has inherited a sinful state of being. Since the transgression of Adam the very lineage of man is corrupt, totally depraved, and capable of no righteous deeds outside of regeneration.
REGENERATION I embrace that regeneration is the miraculous work of the Holy Spirit that gives a man a new heart and a new mind seeking after righteousness and a right relationship with God.
REPENTANCE I embrace that repentance occurs when the Holy Spirit draws a man onto Christ. It is an act of Gods grace opening the eyes of the sinner to the wickedness of his own sin. In this it causes the man to hate his own sin and turn to God in submission, humility, reverence, and contrition.
THE HOLY SPIRIT I embrace that the Holy Spirit indwells believers sanctifying, counseling, comforting, convicting, and ultimately conforming them to the craftsmanship and image of Christ. Through the Holy Spirit has scripture been written,revealed, and understood. The Holy Spirit spirit bears fruit in believers and is the third person of the Trinity.
SALVATION I embrace that salvation is a work of grace initiated by God drawing the sinner to repentance. Salvation is by grace through faith in Christ. I believe the process to be justification, sanctification, glorification. As Christians, we were saved from the penalty of sin when God brought us to faith in Christ; we are presently being saved from the power of sin as theHoly Spirit sanctifies us; and we will someday be saved from the presence of sin when we meet Christ face to face in glory.
THE CHURCH I embrace Christ to be the Head of the church. He is its sovereign and final authority. The church is made up of the universal body of believer redeemed by Christ united by one faith, one Lord, one baptism, one spirit. We believe that though the church is unified beyond the four walls of any one building that the local church is paramount for the accountability, discipline, fellowship, and growth of the believer. God has established offices to orderly steward and shepherd His flock and administer His sacraments (such as the ordinance of baptism and the Lords supper).
THE JUDGMENT I embrace that God has appointed a day, wherein He will judge the world by Jesus Christ, when every one shall receive according to his deeds: the wicked shall go into everlasting punishment; the righteous, into everlasting life.
