Lance Kwabena

Lance Kwabena is a multi-genre music producer. He makes his beats in a fashion to merge multiple otherwise unrelated genres in a digestible, usable fashion.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I started making beats when I found Acoustica Mixcraft. I was actually looking for the Sibelius software, because I initially just wanted to compose band/orchestral music. I continued to use Mixcraft with a couple of my friends, and we eventually crossed over to FL Studio(when the Mixcraft trial ended, haha). Being that I'd been involved in music since I was a young child, I continued to use FL Studio, and maintain close ties to my musician friends. I continue to hone my skills and sound to this day.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Not currently; I do have experience playing in a touring blues/rockabilly band and performing in a jazz band. Currently working towards being able to perform instrumental beats.
Your musical influences
I feel like my influences can be a bit too varied at times: Tool, Kanye West, lux.impala, Mike Will, High Klassified, Tom Jobim, and many more outstanding, unrelated artists.
What equipment do you use?
M-Audio 49-key, Axiom Pro 61-key, Maschine, ASUS laptop.
Anything else?
FL Studio, Komplete 10 Ultimate suite, and many, many other individual VST's and effect plugins.
