LA'DEL KENT was born in Elizabethtown Kentucky, Derrick T. Killebrew Jr. He spent a majority of his childhood in neighborhoods and classrooms that were both mainly white (as most of KY is). Somewhat of an outcast to his peers at first, LA'DEL turned to music for clarity, understanding, and friendship. At the age of eight, he and his cousin, decided that they were going to start a band. Praised by his english teacher as a great writer of poetry, he decided that he would write the majority of their songs and also take on the task of being the front man of the group. The group idea quickly faded, but LA'DEL found he wasn't too bad at writing songs, and privately kept it up. As he aged, life dealt it's usual blows, and without many true friends to turn to, he learned to trust music to be his savior from pain.Contact
