LLOC (Life Like Orange Cones) Los Angeles existed in an upstairs apartment bedroom.
Band/artist history
Before the Orange Cones there was this still-life of what it was like being an Orange Cone at the end of the last millennium. Life Like Orange Cones explored how life could sometimes mimic an orange cone, sitting on the side of the road, traffic speeding by, ever in danger of being run over by something that hardly cares you're there, and built to do as little damage to that something as reasonably possible as it runs you down. A car commercial once said that life rarely imitates orange cones, but LLOC was one of the exceptions. One period (one might say the '90s) was winding down but not quite over, and another period was about to begin. In a two-bedroom apartment that was geographically inside Duarte, California, but because it was on a no-outlet street with the only access being from neighboring Monrovia, was considered to be a Monrovia address, there came and went many creatures of day and night, many visitors and guests, some for hours, some for months, and much frivolity and merriment. In the haze of clouds of many different molecules there came the videogame sounds of LLOC. As an outlet for the seeming stagnation of a stage, the exploration of a life being passed by while standing out as insignificant, LLOC absorbed from its surroundings and emitted the above sonic scape.
