19 year old Mississippi artist, "LIL MAL" was born Jonathan Jamal Minor in North Jackson, MS. There he was raised mostly by his grandmother and grandfather. Raised in the ghetto he had dreams like all the other kids in the neighborhood, being rich and famous. Due to his great people skills, rapping ability, and staying well dressed he became popular where ever he positioned himself as far as schools, neighborhoods, etc... At age eleven he started understanding music and gaining more interest in hip-hop. There he went from recording on radios, cameras, computers, and any other technologies that would play his music back. After seeing rap artists become sucessful at young ages, LIL MAL began to take his rapping career seriously. He started featuring other serious artists in his city on the opposite sides of town in his music, bringing more listeners and exposure to his music career. At age 16 he started promoting and doing his own shows, bringing even more exposure. By age 18 he had made a bond with every big name in the Jackson metro area and was realizing it was now time to take it worldwide. So he teamed up with Monetary Records, an independent label, and started being professionally recorded. Now, a patiently waiting artist, he hopes to take his career to the next level and open doors for the next generation of hip-hop.Contact
