"I love writing songs that serve to connect us all; the ones that pull us together and remind us that we are all One. Our joys, our suffering, our laughter and tears are all shared experiences of the whole. With songwriting, I try to look at each life experience as an opportunity to reach deep inside of who I am, to creatively draw out the wonder and wisdom of it all through words and voice. It's kind of like pouring your heart out." Writing strong and meaningful lyrics began for Kristine when her father brought her a piano when she was just 9 years old. It was then that she wrote her very first song called Now and Forever; a song which she eventually recorded. It didn't take long for Kristine to realize the creative freedom she would gain by increasing her knowledge in music production and there another passion was born. With her soul-piercing voice and lyrical genius, Kristine continues to write, produce and co-produce all of her songs which has places her on an auspicious journey on the music platform. Kristine Sebastian( also known as Tish ) has impressed countless audiences with her outstanding performances both as a soloist and as the lead singer of a successful Jazz/Motown band known as The Tavares Quintet. The band has an extensive repertoire spanning many musical genres including Jazz, R&B Motown, Reggae Soul and Latin. With her many talents and interests, the core of Kristine Sebastian's passion lies right there in the lyric. She truly enjoys the entire writing prcess. Kristine regards herself as spiritual rather than religious. It's has been her strong faith in God paired with her strong sense that " we are all connected" that has often inspired many of her songs. "There's a song in all of us", Kristine says "and it's when you simply decide to embrace the beauty of surrender, you'll find that the song practically writes itself". The topics and themes for Kristine Sebastian's music often addresses conditions of social consciousness and all matters of the heart . It is her wonderful ability to lyrically capture issues and emotions relating to love, politics, growth and relationships that will continue to impress her listeners time and time again.
