Bio-King Legit King Legit began his career in 1986 as a member of the Dev. III crew. After their first independent release, The Dev. III Is In The House, which sold approximately 100,000 units, the group began performing at local venues in and around New York and Washington DC. Following a show in the summer of 1988, King Legit was approached by Run DMCs dj, Jam Master Jay. After months in the studio, and performances on the road with the legendary rap trio, King Legit released his first solo album in May of 1990 entitled Enter The Kingdom. The album was released on Sire Records, a subsidiary label for Warner Bros. Records. The album went on to sell 150,000 units worldwide. After the release of his second solo album in 1991 entitled I Am The King, he began to record again with his group the Dev. III. Their second album Together Again, also released independently, sold another 150,000 units. It was during this time that King Legit formed his record label, KingDom Records International. With help from his mentor, Jam Master Jay, the Dev. III quickly grew into the Royal Court Family, growing to over 50 members. By 1993, with the release of his third solo album The Form Is Still Rare Kingdom Records International had become one of the top hip-hop labels in the industry for underground hip-hop music. In 1996 King Legit released his forth solo album, Exit The King on his own label. This release by far was his best album claiming him Platinum Status with 1,529,000 units sold worldwide. In 2006, King Legit began focusing on improving the status of his label, so he formed the Royal Court Entertainment Group. Not long after he and long time friend and stage partner Prince T, formed Natural Records. In 2007, he acquired Starr Records from EMI Entertainment, and formed KingDom Records South and KingDom Records Label Group. In April 2008, he formed the Royal Court Media Group, the publication, film and radio division of Royal Court Entertainment Group. With more acquisitions on the way, King Legit promises to make Royal Court Entertainment Group the largest independent entertainment company in the business by years end 2010. Now 22 years after his first ever release as an artist, he is back with his newest release, Return To The Throne to be released in October 2008. King Legit is also working on a reunion album with his old group. With this project, this will be the groups first time together in over 15 years. Due for release in early 2009, the album is to be entitled Family Affair. He has also worked on his first feature film Making It Big Tyme and the accompanying soundtrack with the same name. The movie is scheduled for release in January 2010, with the soundtrack to be released in late 2009. To date, with the release of the movie soundtrack, King Legit will have released 10 albums group and solo, and produced more than 75 albums. With more than twenty years in the entertainment industry, King Legit is set to take his place on the throne once again.
