Hey everybody! Here are some songs I wrote about life, love, and the pursuit of happiness with the best of friends. I hope you can relate to a line or two, tap your feet to the beat, or at least find the groove of the mood in each song. Guest air-guitarists are always welcome.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I began writing music lyrics in highschool, and kept a notebook for that sole purpose. It wasn't until I was about to graduate from Old Dominion University that I actually followed through and began to compose to actually create full songs. Since then, more equipment keeps flowing in to improve the recording capability, and more experience has been gained in music theory, live performances, collaborations, and sheer trial and error. What you hear here is a sampling of a couple songs made along the way.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I play around various parts of Southern Alabama - sometimes alone, and many times with my good friend Andy Bell. We call ourselves Shifting Midnight. Most of the songs here are songs I play alone, though a couple carry over into the Shifting Midnight set.
Your musical influences
I grew up in a house filled with classic rock played by my father. My brother had more modern grunge playing through the 90's. Since then, I've explored genres ranging from country, emo, punk, classical, and even opera. The main songwriters and bands who influence my music (to date) are classics like Eric Clapton and the Beatles and my favorite modern writers like John Vesely, John Mayer, Ryan Key, and many others.
