K Lady M is a UK Multimedia artist best known for her feature on BroRadio 98.1FM with Jurassic Hype' and her Poewitical attributes at SpillWords Press. K has been mixing and producing music since she was 17, after completing a First Diploma in Performing Arts, she met Jay P, a friend who introduced her to the music studio on the college campus and ever since then she felt the studio and stage was her home. As soon as she picks up that mic or puts all hands on deck - her mystical side comes to life. All journeys are difficult to start, but it's the way we interpretate it is what counts. We can learn from our mistakes and we all make them I remember just starting out, my music wasn't good at all, I'd get really bad feedback from other artists but it was showing me where and how I needed to improve. I know that now, in their own way they were looking out for me, trying to show me the way forward. The only way is up. Keep working, putting in my all - the toughest challenges are given to the strongest soldiers, I believe I am strong to be getting tested like that and I still get tested today too, a surge of trials and errors but we live on through it.
Of all the Negativity and the struggles of school life from my past, my abusive father, my battle with a severe health condition that affected my blood circulation.. I still powered through. I'm not in search of pity, I just want to tell my story to empower others.
I wrote and it helped me to stay alive, to survive the lonely nights. A voice amplified in my mind to stay above the grind, the words I inked out found me inside.
My first stage name was Something Youthful, as I was young with the likes of a Youthful voice to top it off, but then my music took on greater ability and I wanted to highlight that with an iconic name.. My real name is KL Merchant. So to bring on some form of acronym .. KLM.. K Lady M the lady in me found her place in her new name which is an abbreviation of my real name. I felt more me and the lyricist that lives within. My lyrics are written and performed in metaphor provoking minds of many. It has often been said that when they listen to my tracks, the sentences make you think about them and their meanings for days. I speak in riddles. It's just my way to communicate.

Through time my music got better and with that brought me to my strongest days.Have you performed in front of an audience?Oh I remember standing ten feet tall (so I felt in my Wedges) on a rock tour stage at a club called Ten Feet Tall. I did a spoken word rap Battle mix on stage in front of hundreds for Last MIC STANDING. I didn't win but it was a buzz being up there doing that!
Your musical influences
Eminem. I can relate to his life. His childhood stories and the way he struggled before being discovered. Also I look up to Avril Lavigne, she is by far one of the greatest musician singers of all time and followed her music ever since I was about 14. She helped me through feeling suicidal after being bullied at school. I left school at just 14, got employed at a local restaurant and a place at college to study a wide range of topics to get back what I lost at school in order to progress to higher levels. Which I did and it's all thanks to the greatness of my heroes keeping my spirit alive.What equipment do you use?
I use Midi keyboards, drum kits, virtual beat makers, decks and the real deal, along with that acoustic guitars, BandLab app, Adobe studio and DAW loop kits, and quality mics which include the new neewer edition for crisper dynamic sounds.Anything else?
