I've been a keyboard hobbyist for more than 20 years now. During the recent years I have grown interest to write my own songs and then hear what comes out of that process. My personal music composition style is leaning towards complex musical designs with tricks and hooks, nice grooves and atmospheres. However I still try to keep things simple as possible. I want to grow as a composer thus I decided to share some of my work here.
Band/artist history
I've been playing keyboards as a hobby for more than 20 years. I've been involved with several bands over the years such as gospel rock bands, gospel choirs, fusion jazz band and nowadays more traditional rock.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Yes I do, occasionally. Currently I have a band with my colleagues from my previous workplace and we're in a process to make our first single release.
The most memorable moments with a band are from my late teenage years, when everything was possible (or atleast we thought so..)
Your musical influences
I've been listening all types of music over the years. Progressive music has always been the most interesting genre for me. Especially bands like Rush, Porcupine Tree, Saga, Muse and Dream Theater are on my personal top 10 list. I have also listened some jazz but not that active lately. Jazz groups I used to listen to were Spyro Gyra, Larry Carlton, Dave Weckl, Medeski Martin&Wood.
What equipment do you use?
I'm totally into Mac nowadays. I have a Macbook Pro, TC Electronic Konnekt 24D audio interface, M-Audio Axiom 61 USB keyboard. The soft studio is built around the Logic Studio.
I used to have all sorts of synths such as Korg Trinity Pro X, Roland JV-80 etc.. But today the computers and virtual instruments are so powerful that I rather put my laptop into my backpack than haul a 80lbs. synth to the gig..
Anything else?
Keep the comments coming, both the criticism and praise :)
