Joy Shannon and the Beauty Marks is the brainchild of multi-instrumentalist Joy Shannon who composes on Celtic harp, cello, accordion, guitar and vocals. Her sound is completed by "the Beauty Marks" who consist of Sean Wallace on guitar, Andy Zacharias on bass, Graham Spillman and Axel Clarke on drums.
Joy's music has been described as "mesmerizing" and "ethereal, powerful and moving... She's a must listen artist whose unique application of the Celtic Harp and hard-rocking band makes her truly one of a kind". (M. Cleveland)
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Joy Shannon has been making music since she was a child and has written and recorded 6 albums of her original music to date! Her first band was an avant-garde goth band called "The Deathblossoms" which debuted in 2000.
She released "As in the Wilderness" in 2008, has a new album called "The Opium Wars or Love in Lieu of Laudanum" coming out in April of 2009. She has also collaborated with a band in England called "the Offering" and will have an album coming out soon with them as well.
