Hi I'm Joseph Riley! I'm a teenage producer from Manchester, England. I write and release my own music and sell beats and instrumentals on the side.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I started releasing music when I was 12 and I am slowly growing my fanbase and improving my skills with every release.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I remember my first live show like it was yesterday! I was quite young and I was asked to perform at my town's festival. It was a stage in this huge circus tent and the crowd was massive. It was so terrifying and I felt a little dizzy when I fist went on stage but once my track started playing, I felt ok.
Your musical influences
I mainly write pop songs so Max Martin is a HUGE influence to may because he has written many of my favourite songs and I am a huge fan of his. People outside of the music industry probably don't know who he is but he has written for many from the likes of Ariana Grande, Katy Perry and Taylor Swift to Coldplay, Ed Sheeran and Britney Spears.
What equipment do you use?
I have my own set up at home in a small room accessed through my bedroom. It has the weirdest roof which is really slanted and has 10 wall faces because it is so crooked which makes designing a sonically accurate studio REALLY hard but I have managed to do it. I have a Desktop PC running Studio One by Presonus which is one of the best DAWs you can get, in my opinion. I have a PreSonus AudioBox iTwo for my XLR mics and Alesis VI25 MIDI controller. I have a PreSonus Faderport 8 Production Controller and a pair of Eris 3.5 Studio Monitors. Lastly I have a pair of Presonus H7s, a lamp, some string lights and a wooden desk from Wayfair. :)
