My name is Johnny Stenger. I started playing music when I was 14 years old. I started into music singing a groove metal band called Flatline with a group of childhood friends of which I am still friends with today. I decided that I wanted to learn an instrument and bought a Schaefer bass and a practice amp for $40.00 from a girl down the street from me. the strings on this bass were literally about 4" off of the neck but for $40 it was the best thing ever to me. Once I had that under my belt, I upgraded, then upgraded again. The, I finally decided to buy a guitar and amp. I saved up my money from an after school stockboy job. I bought an Ibanez 7 string even though I only used 6 but, the neck was comparible to the bass that I had lol! So with all of that being said, That's when music really grabbed me. I was a music Junky! I played in a couple of other metal bands and then the inevidible. Everyone started going their separate ways. I took a break for about 3 years.
After that suicide was over. I had met my wife and started playing and singing again. I started a studio called Stenger Sound Source which I still run today. I started focusing on songwriting. I had all the tools to do it and, that is what got me here. I had never released any of my solo stuff ever. I entered the song "One More Night" into a competition for NASH FM. It got good reviews. I didn't advance in the contest but, it was enough motivation to release the song and, make me want to do more. I wrote, composed, performed every instrument, and mixed it myself. It was a valentine's Day present for my wife. Which went very well also!! It was enough to make me want to get my music out. I'm not in it for money although that is a benefit but, I do it because I love doing it. I work a full time job and have a family. I fit it in whenever I can because I love it!!
So in conclusion, that is my story in a nutshell! The rest will come out in the music because evry song has a story to tell!! I hope you enjoy my music and thank you!!
This has been explained above LOL!
Working on booking shows in the northern KY and Cincinnati are currently.
I respect all music for what it is.
I use Peavey and Randall amps. The only guitar that I play that cost any amount of money is a PRS singlecut SE. The other guitars I own are Either given to me or came from a pawnshop. mostly no names. I'm not big on paying a lot of money for a name. Its all in how you play and how the guitar is set up. I change the hardware and pickups in them but, like I said! I like project guitars! I don't want to get into studio equipment. That list is a mile long.
B..De..B..De..B..De..B..That's all folks!!!
