Tears in Heaven - Acoustic Guitar instrumental Tears in Heaven - Acoustic Guitar instrumental
This is an instrumental-only version of the beautiful 'Tears in Heaven' by Eric Clapton, on Acoustic guitar (actually played on electric guitar, but an acoustic modeler pedal was used to make it sound acoustic.

Tears in Heaven with acoustic guitar & lead only Tears in Heaven with acoustic guitar & lead only
This is an instrumental version of the beautiful 'Tears in Heaven' by Eric Clapton. This is a mix of acoustic and electric guitar (melodic improvised lead), but it has mostly an acoustic guitar feel.

Tears in Heaven - instrumental with vocals & lead Tears in Heaven - instrumental with vocals & lead
Instrumental and vocal version of Tears in Heaven by Eric Clapton played on electric guitar - but played finger style with an acoustic tone. I added an additional track of solo electric guitar accompaniment and a vocal track.

I have been a musician - performer and composer - for close to 50 years, and I've been playing guitar for about 42 of those years. I have become mostly a player of Blues as of late and recently was invited to be the lead guitarist of a revived Blues-Rock 60's band.
This picture is of me, and yes, Les Paul! And that's my Les Paul Deluxe, which I play along with my Clapton signature stratocaster.
Band/artist history
Musician - performer and composer (ASCAP). I started piano when I was 8, clarinet when I was 12, and guitar and composing when I was 15 in 1967. I am now the grand old age of 56, and am concentrating on Blues guitar. I was recently lead guitarist of a reformed 60's blues-rock band on Long Island.
I was originally interested in becoming a concert pianist, and I studied for several years with Gates Wray, one of the few students of Vladimir Horowitz, who I consider to be the greatest pianist of the 20th century.
I was a music major in college in the early 1970's (Colby College in Waterville, Maine), where I had the privilege of studying composition under Peter Re, who himself had studied under the great composer Paul Hindemith, and got my BA in music in 1974 concentrating in composition. I took a month of intensive independent study in classical guitar in my senior year from Elliot Fisk (a student of Andres Segovia), and I received honors in it. I taught classical and folk guitar at Colby in 1975 as an independent study course.
Played in several rock groups in High School and College. However, mostly I played folk music - inspired by Dylan, The Grateful Dead, Neil Young, Donovan, Melanie (who I grew up across the street from), as well as more pop oriented artists, especially the Beatles - most especially John Lennon, plus Cream (Eric Clapton is still someone I catch all the concerts of I can), The Stones, and the general music and culture of the mid-late 60's and early 70's. 1967 was the peak for me.
I was invited into a reformed 60's rock/blues group as Lead Guitarist and singer in 2006. Unfortunately that band dis-banded about a year ago. I also have a small home "studio" where I will continue to record both audio and video clips of my Blues guitar playing and improvisation.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I have from time to time - and hopefully I will be doing so more now in a band!
Your musical influences
Eric Clapton, SRV, Buddy Guy, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, The 3 Kings (BB, Albert and Freddie), Melanie, Donovan. Any of the great Blues and Folk artists and groups, and The Beatles above all.
