I was born in Stockholm,Sweden. Started playing music as a child. My mother was an recording artist in the 70s. After have played in numbers of bands with friends in school, i made my first reggae recordings 1988 on homestudio. 1992 i formed the band High Valley with producer Robstah and friends. High Valley was a liveband playing our own original songs and also backed artists like Horace Corn, Pygment, Jahman, Maroon etc. The band have produced a new rootsalbum that will be released.
Jah Zebi is a Stockholmbased artist. I saw Bob Marley play in Stockholm 1979 sitting on my fathers shoulders and ten years later I did my first Reggaesong I wanted you. Influences have been Bob Marley, Princefari, Culture, Twinkle, Capleton, Lee Scratch Perry, LKJ, Alpha Omega Etc.etc.
2001 I set out on a solocareer. After my journey to Ethiopia at the millenium i started to sing and record with different producers and soundsystems such as: Iyah one-Shiloh Ites, Meditative sounds, Social living sounds, AlphaΩ, Sir Larsie, Monty Dan, Dub tribulation, Jah massive soundsystem,TruzD and many more......I started to sing as an guestartist at Soundsystems. Meditative Sound did help me a lot and In 2004 I cut my first dubplates with Uppsalas first big sound. The songs was called Fastlane and Hope of tomorrow. In the sessions therafter I could hear my tunes pounding from the gigantic speakers. What a feeling! I was hooked! 2006 I released Soldier with Shiloh Ites wich was a hit in the Steppersscene and I was also featured on Alpha & Omegas City of dub. Now things really started to move! 2007 I released the 12 Hebal meditation with Dub Tribulation played frequently by Iration steppers that summer and on the B-side was the tune Pure and clean wich was played by the Godfather of soundsystem the honourable Jah Shaka. That was approval from the highest masters of the genre.
Jah rastafari Selassie 1 is the message and him make way for I n I. 2008 I was featured with a song called Niceness on a 10 with Dub Tribulation and Rod Taylor. Working with a a lot of new material and hope to release a couple of albums soon. Check out Jah Zebi on myspace and look out for my heavy Soundsystem-sessions in Venues around the world. Right now a number of releases is coming up so keep the eyes open and spread out the words that H.I.M Emperor Haile Selassie 1 live forever, Jah live. Zebi is also an author and spiritual motivator. A pure italist who dont use drugs or alcohol. Been drinking springwater since 1999. Trying to wake my people to the hiyah reality of things. Struggling with this ignorant beast called Babylon. Love is the only way. Order and principles will conquer chaos and confusion. InI are confident in the victory in good over evil.
