Jay L. Jones a.k.a Jay "J.A.Y." Jonez presents JPEG Music Hot Futuristic Hip Hop Beatz.

Band/artist history

JPEG Music was formally called Playa Playa Records and it was founded in 1995 by a young Jesse L. Jones II. During that time Jones had the dream of producing music after hearing songs on the radio by hit maker Timbaland. In high school Jones made beats by beating on lunch tables and a group of friends freestyle over them. One the friends told Jones about a computer software called Fruity Loops (FL Studio) however Jones didn't own a computer at the time and made a promised to purchase it as soon is he get a computer. In 2003, still haven't purchased a computer, Jones purchased a beat making game for Playstation 2 game console to start getting the feel of producing and come up with a different sound for hip hop. Jones display his work to friends who were aspiring rappers and got some mixed reactions. Still trying to pursue his dream of producing in mid 2007, Jones finally invested in a computer and with the money left over he purchased a cheaper music software called Magix Music Maker to get started. In late 2007, Jones changed the name for his company from Playa Playa Records to JPEG Music (Jones Production and Entertainment Group) . Reason behind the name change is JPEG sounds more mature and makes more since. Also the aspiring producer change is name to J.A.Y. to be different from the rest of the "Jay's" in the world (no offense). In 2008, J.A.Y. display his music to friends and got a more positive reaction but the sound just wasn't there. In late 2008, J.A.Y. finally got the opportunity to purchase Fruity Loops now called FL Studio and got to work. Now J.A.Y. is promoting his beats here on Soundclick, Twitter, and Facebook. Bringing a futuristic sound to hip hop calling it futuristic hip hop. a href="http

No i don't play live just produce music in a home studio

Your musical influences

Some of my influences are Timbaland and Neptunes for they're out of space sound. Organized Noise for their funky sound and bass. Dr. Dre for his sampling and how he turn old school R&B classics to hip hop classics and Drumma Boy for his rhythms in his beats. I like the rhythm of his bass drums and hi hats.

What equipment do you use?

Right now I only using FL Studio on a compaq presario. However I am investing in a keyboard, Roland- TR 808, a mac computer, apple garageband.

Anything else?

Hope everyone enjoy my music more coming soon! Hang out wit me on twitter.com @JPEGMusic
