Its Mental aka It's Mental is an upcoming Hip Hop artist out of San Diego. As the name says it Its Mental is a conscious rapper writing about social issues. He has many Hollywood acknowledgements. He won Best Hip Hop Album from Akademia in May 2015 for album "One Life To Live". Nominated for best Hip Hop song for 2016 Indie Music Channel Awards for single "One Life To Live". Its Mental also has been nominated for the 7th Annual Hollywood Music in Media Awards(HMMA) for Best Hip Hop Song "Life is Good" happening in November 2016. Its Mental musical career is the mirror image of his life; a biography. The lyrics reflect the days in his life with complete expression about his changing phases. His lyrics are based on his faith; as he defines himself in a world of deep depth in illusions and deceptions. Living in Philadelphia, PA for 5 years, then onto Kansas City, MO, for yet another 5 years Its Mental not only enjoyed but thrived with the changes the cities brought. Living in different regions has attributed to his new music, which is found in his 3rd album titled "Changes Self Realization". This CD is very unique in respect to hip hop and a new sound.
Changes within and the development of his spirituality, Its Mental has produced his best album, there is no comparison to his previous releases. Each CD displays growth in Its Mental as a person and as an artist. The first 2 CD's were released under Its Mental birth name: Tyrone Brown. This 3rd CD is being released under "Its Mental". Its Mental is an acknowledgment of his deep outlook on life. Its Mental envelops Tyrone Brown the person, the writer, the artist, his travels and lessons learned.
After 10 years Its Mental is back in his home town of San Diego, CA. Tyrone feels his life's journey has been directed by God, as a direct relation to his faith. His faith has provided him with strength, enabling him to move to Philadelphia, and attend Temple University. Philadelphia has deep history and Tyrone's spirituality was highly influenced while living there. Five years later he moved to Kansas City, to live with his girlfriend he meet at Temple. While in Kansas City Its Mental released two CD's, he performed with a group named G.A.S. (God's Anointed Soldiers) and collaborated with many artist and producers. Now in San Diego Its Mental music is unique and quite refreshing.
"Changes Self Realization" is inspired by Its Mental returning from his journey living in his hometown and resting feeling complete. The CD has hot producers; GodSon from Black Fam, Xact of Faultline and others. Recorded and mastered at Full Clip Studios in San Diego. Check out the new single, Better Day, on itunes.com.
