Guitarjonz Jazz Project
My Expanding Universe My Expanding Universe
This one has a bebop type chord melody. A little different approach for me. Verse bassline is played on the Godin Glissentar tuned to Open C. Very funky. Sounds like fretless bass. Nice groove.
Alibaba's Revenge Alibaba's Revenge
Egyptian jazz. The verse riff is played on a Godin Glissentar which has a nice fretless sound. Got a tabla sample for percussion. The acoustic guitar solo's are done with a Ovation guitar tuned to open C. Inspired by John McLaughlin's Shakti.
Convergence Convergence
One of my favorite tracks. Opening chord riff is funky and moves. I enjoy playing this one on a Telecaster which seems easier to play using my fingers to pluck the chords. Something about the bridge/string height/string spacing.
Island Paradise Island Paradise
The last song I recorded while living in Los Angeles. Inspired by my decision to move back home to Hilo, Hawaii.
Silk Road Silk Road
This song was inspired my Pat Metheny's Across The Heartland. Though it sounds nothing like it and is NO WAY up to that level.
Land Of Fusion Land Of Fusion
The latest and last song for this project. Got some very nice Holdsworth type phrases using the tremolo bar on my strat. That guy is my hero.
Clockworks Clockworks
Worth The Wait Worth The Wait
Chillout groove. Simple but tasty. My singer Tricia Moorea is working on a vocal version. That's gonna be good!!
New Heights New Heights
The first song I composed for the jazz project. Inspired by jamming with bass player extraordinaire Eric Harris. In fact the whole jazz project was inspired by Eric's playing and compositions.
