Smooth Jazz

Hello. I am a former tuba player in the Grandview Bands System, All Distraict tuba, euphonium and trombone player..but never all state, because i never tried out. I now am going to Missouri Valley on a full ride music scholarship.
Band/artist history
We have an excellent band history: 2000 Missouri Bandmasters Association (MBA), 2003 Missouri Music Educators Association (MMEA), 2004 National Association for Music Education (MENC) in Minneapolis, 2005 Midwest Clinic in Chicago, 2006 International Association for Jazz Education (IAJE) in New York, 2007 MMEA, and most recently the 2007 Essentially Ellington Jazz Band Festival in New York. We have a great concert/ symphonic band history, but our Jazz Bands have been in the upper tier in the nation for many years.
Your musical influences
Charles Mingus..absolutely. John Coltrane, Ellington, James Barnes, Eric Whitacre, Claude T. Smith, Garry Anders (my band director) and many more.
