Band/artist history
I wrote my first country song in 1990, but, hadn't an outlet to perform them due to playing in every other type of band. In 2003 I decided to get serious about it and started recording demos. I would like to build a band around the new songs one day. I enjoy writing them and think it would be just as enjoyable to play them live.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
My main focus is writing right now.
Your musical influences
I got sucked into what Dwight Yoakum and Pete Anderson were doing, it sounded fun! I grew up in Oklahoma, for the most part, listening to 70's A.M. radio and watching Buck Owens and Roy Clark every week. That must have triggered something in the ol' memory bank. When I started playing guitar I was obsessed with Ted Nugent, Boston and Thin Lizzy. Hell, ole Mike Pike up in Lawton got me playing BlackHawk covers back in the mid-90's! Recently, I was turned onto Jimmy Bryant and Speedy West. I've always been amazed by Ricky Scaggs virtuosity, Clint Black's songs / musicianship, Chet and his Memphis Sound.... I could and should go on, because, I find inspiration everywhere. I was taught to be a worldly individual and everyday I spend on this earth I'm discovering something new to make me a more well rounded player and songwriter. I love guitar and what it's capable of producing, period.
What equipment do you use?
Real life experiences and a little drama here and there.
Anything else?
It is what it is, country, rock, blues...just listen, you'll find a connection. I listen to everything and everything finds a home in my songs.
