Bent, from Strong Island, New York is sick of hearing all the shallow nonsense that he's heard lately so he's back with a mission, and substance. People misinterpret the struggle and have glorified it in some sort of fantasy world where its cool to be a gangsta, a thug or a goon. They forgot why the trap is a trap, because you're stuck and it seems that once a rapper becomes unstuck they are still glued to the streets. Telling the truth is what Bent is here for.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Bent, originally from Long Island, New York has been rapping since 1996 and actively recording since 2002 when he was in a group of 4 MCs called The Arketekz along with Jems Uno, Slap Boogz and A.L.P. After making a few underground LPs The Arketekz disbanded due to creative differences and Bent went solo. With several complications, his long anticipated debut Blunted Intelligence was unreleased after a long summer of recording. This was very disappointing and afterwards Bent immediately began recording his second LP entitled, "High On Life... It's a Downer" which was unfortunately not heard by many before he moved to Houston. Upon arriving to H-Town Bent made a compilation of some of his best songs and entitled that 12 song LP, "Get Bent." After considering putting the mic down for good Bent was convinced otherwise with the amount of rave reviews he had received from his previous works and began writing again preparing what appears to be his "Manifest Destiny."
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Performing live is something Bent loves to do however he hasn't since moving to Houston in 2008 but looks forward to lighting up the stages one by one as he finishes his new LP.
