About Funestum
The band Funestum was found on January 15th 2008. That day there was passed the first rehearsal on which were present: Ireniya (viola), Oleg Merethir (guitars), Denis Komar (drumms).
Immediately it has been decided to work in direction of doom-metal but subsequently during experiments and searches of 'self sound' style was defined as funeral doom-metal which is adhered till today.
In May 2008 vocalist Egor Bewitched who undertakes later the bass guitar join the band.
In July 2008 on personal circumstances Denis Komar leaves the band and Peter Arhe young but perspective musician takes the place of drummer. And soon after several months of searches Atya (keys) has founded. She introduces so long-awaited sound into band's music.
With full team there proceeds work with material which becomes the music program basis.
In November 2008 initial band's name Syllestia was replaced with more conceptual - Funestum. It means (from Latin) - "sad, funeral, mourning".

In Funestum music powerful guitar reeves, lyrical melody of viola, monumental keyboard line, courageous geowl are combined that as well as possible underlines atmosphere of grief and despair which we would like to convey is our music.
Themes of songs narrate about weakness, imperfection of the person which faces with ñynicism and nonchalant of world around.Admin
