Freak Beamish
Howdy, I'm Freak Beamish and I'm a 16-year-old semi-beginner producer. I'm very versatile in what beats, songs, or instrumentals I can make.
Band/artist history
I started simply playing drums. The only genres I would listen to were Rock, Heavy Metal, and subgenres that followed. But as I grew older I started opening up my mind more and listening to more artists. I then found out that I could make a whole song for free on my own in my room, so that's when I branched out. It took me a while, but I'm getting the hang of producing Hip Hop, Trap, Lofi, and other genres. It's a fun journey but it's only just the start so far.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I have. I play in a band with my Dad and Sister, (Dad on vocals and guitar while Sis plays bass), and they compliment our sound and our musicianship a lot.
Your musical influences
My biggest influencers are J Dilla, Madlib, Radiohead, Kanye, Carti, NIN, and Death Grips. I love all of their music and they hit me hard with inspiration when I listen to them.
What equipment do you use?
I use quite a bit. Starting with the older stuff I use a Dr.Groove DR-202 (I Love the kicks and percs on it), a Dr. Rhythm Section DR-5 (my least-used), and a Dr. Rhythm DR-660 (For 808 drums). And, for the newer equipment, I use an Akai MPK mini MKIII as a keyboard, an old ass Yamaha DTXPress as a midi controller so I can drum with samples, a Hercules DJControl Starlight to scratch samples, and finally (My favorite), my Korg MS-20 synth. I also use a Sterling H224 audio interface, an old Carvin Concert Series C800 Mixer (I needa buy a new one), and Tascam headphones (Don't remember which kind). :)
Anything else?
Hopefully, you enjoy what I do, and if you don't then I'll try to improve. :)
