Hey whatsup world! I'm D.Phillips aka S.O.P. from Flow City Records and I'm basically here to showcase my music production qualities. I produce music for Hip-Hop, R&B, Rap, Soul, Reggae, Reggaetone etc and in March 2009 released a self titled debut album with Flow City Artist Danian. Along with producing music I also write and co write lyrics and arrange with the music I produce. Currently I'm working with some great songwriters, singers & M.C.'s in the U.S., Canada & Europe working on Mixes as well as full production. Trena you kick ass! Always interested in meeting new artists for some projects or collabs either local or abroad so gimme a shout, also looking for Latin artists to work with. I'm not a one dimensional producer so if you don't hear your style no worries, I've also produced for Kane from Capitol Records tearing up the 305 and doing shows all over the south, Kane's got a sound of his own and is on a fast track to success. Your musical influences
My influences come from every sound I've ever heard but I'll give you and idea of what I listen to... Music, what can I tell ya I like it all baby! From Sade my favorite R&;B/Soul singer of all time, Anita Baker, Ciara, Cassie, Beyonce, Alicia Keys for bringing back that old sound like the days when I use to watch Soul Train heh! Yeah I'm white but I did watch Soul Train, My biggest Canadian influence - Sir Maestro Fresh Wes, Oh Damm how could I forget Mariah!! What a sweetie, all the other female R&;B singers I forgot, for the Latin I like Nina Sky, Chingo Bling, Daddy Yankee, Reggae Sean Paul, for old school The Spinners, Stylistics, Shi Lites, War, HipHop like Slick Rick &; Douge "E" Fresh "I love that Beat Boxin" big props to Butterscotch, George Clinton &; P Funk, Grandmaster Flash, Sugarhill Gang, Teh Gap Band, SOS Band, Earth Wind & Fire, Prince, Vanity 6, Curtis Blow, De La Soul, Tom Tom Club, Beastie Boys, ahhh damm I almost forgot Run DMC "my bad" the whole freakin golden era, Digital Underground, 2 Live, Tupac, Snoop & Dre, Biggie & Diddy, Mace, Warren G, Nate Dog, etc. to Nelly, Chingy, Luda etc. for the dirtysouth sounds to the dark sounds of rap like 50 Cent, Lil Jon, I know I'm missing alot but you know who you are, love the backing music from Fabolous. Music producers? Kanye West, DJ Premier, Timbaland, Jermaine Dupree, Dre etc, thanks to Sa'id and Kid Cus for the beat tips, hope to make it there soon Cus ;-). Oh yeah I also like the rock like Metallica, Tool, Pantera "R.I.P Dimebag", ACDC, Zeppelin, Zappa, Cooper, Anthrax, Rage Against The Machine, System Of A Down etc. I'm currently listening to Raphael Sadiq & Metallica Oh did I mention I sometimes listen to classical?? heh!What equipment do you use?
