Flare (Drum n Bass)
Hello all I call myself Flare and I make some drum n bass and other shit. I like turtles and noisia.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
In 2006 I got an iMac for my birthday. Ever since I discovered Garageband I have been fascinated with computer music production. I have moved up to Reason and have been producing ever since.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Unless you call pressing the spacebar playing live, no.
Your musical influences
The first track I heard that really blew me away was The Tide by Noisia. As soon as I had heard the song in its entirety, it was marked in my mind as a sort of Olympic Gold that I've been working (I should say struggling) toward ever since. Along the way I've taken massive influences from other greats such as Geier, Spor, Apex, Calyx and Teebee, Misanthrop, Evol Intent, Bad Company, and loads others.
Also Stevie Wonder.
What equipment do you use?
My mac, a very old stereo, Alesis Photon x25, Reason 4.0, and a tape deck.
