Band/artist history
"I have been playing Folk Music Professionally for Many years. I wrote my first Folk song in 79' while involved heavy in early L.A. punk scene..kept it a secret though,as i mighta got lynched! i was a member of various bands of that era.such as "THE CHEIFS" ,the NIGHEIST,AGGRESSION[Ii wrote all their hits!] in around 1981 I was a founding member of THE WAYWARD CAINES which featured on Drums LOUIE DUFAU(THE STAINS,DC3,WHY NUT)on Guitar MICHAEL LIVINGSTON(THE MAU MAUS, etc.)on Vocals BOSKO(U.X.A.,THE DARBY CRASH BAND, etc.) and Myself on BASS GUITAR.that outfit never recorded but there are some videos and bootlegs floating around someplace.it was strange in that we did the songs" BREAKING THE LAW" and "GENIOUS OF LOVE" in the same set.years later i had a great single out on BIGDOG RECORDS in 91' called"WELCOME BACK TO THE COAST" it sold rather well in europe.bigdog was owned by Alex Mc nicholl.the drummer for "GREEN ON RED" who were a huge influence on my music. for Many years i had been hopping freights and hitching all over america and canada.learning obscure folksongs from fishermen and lumberjacks.hobos etc. i was on the way outta the country when WHICH?RECORDS got a .holda my manager and wanting to sign me up to their outfit.well...i did an' i found me some fellers that could play damn fine on my CD. which by the way is called "EN GARDE" it has 14 songs and features: EUGE-harmony brand 6 string, vocals.shot caliin'/ BRAD WATSON-grand piano-wurlitzer,-hammond B-3,-diet coke/ GREG ROGERS (formerly of "poison 13"and "the obsessed")-drums,percussion,/ DAVID HERRERA( of new york's "the cheapskates")-electric& accoustic lead and rythm. guitar & banjo / DON"MAD DOG"RUTHERFORD-electric lead & rythm guitar/JEFF mcELLROY-stand up and electric bass guitar-hijinx etc./ VICTORIA JACOBS aka "streamline duster" - back up vocals, fancy fur coat./ JOE SOFIO-manager,the man who made IT all happen!( thanks joe)/ TAYLOR CLYNE-which?records co-president/ a&r,found very nice, expensive studio in hollywood california.and fired original mixer! great job! and last but not least.../ ROBERT CARRANZA-producer,mixer,cell phones, funny stories etc." furthermore...."during the summer of 2000 i completed a busking tour of the u.s.a..starting in portland, oregon.where i went into protest song mode in front of the courthouses.then westward .lincoln,nebraska,chicago,illinois.for two weeks in the subway tunnels.philly pa.for week.then new york, new york for two weeks.miami, florida.then on to oklahoma for the woody guthrie free folk festival. which was grand! then across the desert states to san francisco for two weeks.then back to portland, oregon. i started out eastward in my 78'ford ltd. which made it as far as iowa then lost a rear wheel due to crazy rusted breaking off lug nuts on I-84 HWY sold the wreck to salvage yard and hitched and hopped freights the remainder of my mad busking tour.highlights included my relentless persecution at the hands of various states troopers however i turned the tables and gave em' hell all across this godforsaken country met pale face and lach and joie dead blond girlfriend in new york and got hip to what those guys and bendik are laying down in the east village at places like the sidewalk or the raven and the C-note and i gotta say it is right powerfull medicine.saw mary lou play a great concert in central park on the 4th of july and met wanderin folkist lakis who has boss songs and i played both villages east and west till 4am selling my NEW CD ENGARDE every night i was there and i saw jake from cincinatti at the wg fest in OK and we even got to blare out some songs that last night got stuck hella thirsty in arizona desert for seven hours 50 miles from any water made the coast and plowed into frisco subway system and caught another great mary lou performance made portland and had pbr at the tunnel did a wee bit of busking with johnny gayleon then faded out to unspecified west coast locale from whence i shall finish up some tunes i wrote whilst regulating the highway..........(euge,end of summer Back on The Coast) that's when i split for Vegas can not dig the mad nuclear scene make tracks through Texas, NEW Mexico, Oklahoma,Alamabama, Mississippi,Georgia,Florida(land of Causey!)make the scene in D.C. mad rats control downtown.so back i go to New York City. Many,Many hours i spend Busking in the Subway Stations Grand Central& Times Square. sometimes as many as 16 a day. wondering how much a cat can take.Endurance
becomes my forte.and i am fortified by much Grog.
The scene at TheSIDEWALK is really fantastic this time Around. PALEFACE curing cancer with his song "A message of hope" over at The Raven.
MIRACULOUSLY i am left alone by the coppers down in those busy subway tunnels. I begin to ease into Another Dimension. It suits me.about a month or more into this i decide to split for Europe.that is another story ..........
Europe was amazing. i stayed for a year performing at various clubs in Prague,Berlin,Edinburgh,Dublin,Galway, etc. I return to the united states only to see it transformed into an absolute Police State.2 years later(after hitching thru america the equivalent of 2 times around the earth busking and harrassing highway patrol pigs) i joyously leave once more for Europe and the rest of the sane world. Ironically the song "THE GREEN MOUNTAINEER" is a perfect indictment of the current administration. originally this marching song was sung by the revolutionary army in their war against the british during the war of independence.now the dream usurped, they roll in their graves.crying out for the salvation of our Republic. for my part, I saw it coming years ago.I merely got out of the way.may the world be so lucky.
