What Is Love What Is Love
It has always been obvious that one day Etholia Kent-Housey would minister to the masses. She began singing at the age of five at New Hope AME church in a small town in Georgia. She traveled with her father as he ministered in the AME Church and was often his soloist right before his sermon. It was not apparent at the time, but her father was preparing her for ministry. She mesmerized the audience with a powerful voice that could fill a room even without a microphone. All through out her youth, Etholia won numerous talent shows and was named "Miss Gospel" when she was just in Junior High School. She later went on to win other awards. Etholia attended Morris Brown College in Atlanta, GA where she was one of the lead singers for the Morris Brown Gospel Choir. She was also a member of the Atlanta University Gospel Choir (Morris Brown College, Morehouse College, Clark Atlanta University, & Spellman College). In a choir of more than two hundred voices, this one voice still emerged as a leader. She later returned to Savannah State University where she became a member of Wesleyan Gospel Choir. Once again the gifts and talents of this young lady made her a leader. After serving for many years as musician for several different churches, she longed for more. After much prayer and preparation, she was blessed to form an ensemble of extraordinary worshippers and singers, thus Reality of Praise was born. Etholia and the members of Reality of praise have become one of the new faces and sounds for gospel music. Their purpose is not to perform or entertain, but to minister and offer the world a light in Jesus Christ. After much prayer and preparation, Etholia is now a Minister in the African Methodist Episcopal Church and the spiritual leader and music director for Reality of Praise. She is also the Minister of Music at the New Hope African Methodist Episcopal Church where Rev. Sherry Taylor is the Pastor. Reality of Praise consists of eleven anointed and energetic singers to include her teenage daughter and son and several cousins and close friends. They are: Sopranos: Quadasha Jackson, Bridgette McHenry, Jeanette Pinkney, and Andrea Kirkland. Altos: Brittany Housey, Onzetta Roberts, Natalie Kent-Scott, and Tanya Washington Tenors: Christopher Housey, Derrick Law, and Jarvis Henderson. The group strives as a family and is very close to each other. This love for each other and desire to please God makes it easy for them to minister to others. As this group debuts their first CD titled "No Greater Love" their prayer is that God will allow them to minister to people everywhere and offer them healing through the extreme worship, comforting words, and hot beats that this project offers. The single, "You Gotta Believe" will be released December, 2008, so stay tuned.
