My name is "E$Y" pronouced (Easy) I've been doing music locally in Minnesota since 2004.
Band/artist history
I was originally born and raised in East Oakland, California November, 22 1986. This was around a time when gang violence was at a all time high. Tragically, My father was killed when I was a child which is what made my mother move to Minnesota.
I had a hard time growing up but was a out going person by heart so it was easy to adjust and cope. I started music randomly when another student at my high school asked if anyone was interested and I volunteered as a sort of oh well kind of moment and its been history ever since.
Today I go by the name ESY which Stand for Established Since Youth or Esydontsleep and is also a play on my Name where the ES comes from Jones and the Y from Anthony and lastly expresses my personality I make things look easy. I am also CEO of the Production Company/Indie Record Label Rize-n-Shine Entertainment LLC.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I play live around the Twin cities regularly. I've Been nominated For Song of The Year, Most Slept on and Next To Blow in the Twin Cities Urban Hip-hop Awards 2013.
I have performed for America's got talent Mn and have performed all over Minnesota in various venues including Sound bar, Red Sea Bar and Grill, The Cherry Pit, Minnesota Music Café, Imperial Room, Cinco De Mayo Events, Schools, Club Underground.
The biggest show I've ever been a part of was MGK's Lace up Tour with Nate Millyunz. I have also performed in Iowa, Atlanta, Wisconsin and North Dakota.
Your musical influences
I grew up listening to Jay-Z, Lil Wayne and Eminem and just about everyone and For Producers I had Timbaland, Scott Storch, Dr Dre etc., you know the Greats!!
What equipment do you use?
I'm actually a Certified Audio Engineer with a degree in Sound Art and Engineering and a Certificate in Protools. I have ahome studio that i produce most of my music out of.
