Erixa Charlez
I'm Erica Charles, 23 from Boston, Ma. I been going hard at the music business since 1989. Right now I'm doing my entrepreneur thing as always. I'm working on growing my own Records Label, Blazin Records. When I wan three I started out listening to what my family listened to of course including gospel. I always loved music and when I was five that's when I started singing in the curch choir. I also had a pasison for hip hop and I took it from there.
My mother and most of my family knew I loved to sing and dance so they used to buy me playskool tape recorders and keyboards. That's how I began to evolve in my craft. As I got older I mixed my singing with my rapping and started making my own hooks and full songs. When the '90's came I started listening to Bone Thugs N Harmony and Tupac which gave me insight and a harmonic flow when neccessary.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Erica Charles:
1989-1997: Started to sing in Churh Choir and Missionary Festivals, and rap @ home and in local open mics, private shows
1993-2003: Entered many talent shows, won 1st place 2x and 2nd place in local talent show "Dap Rap" and joined the school Choir and Music Festivals
2004-to Present: Had three top 10 hits on internet radio, working on growing own Record Label Blazin Records.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I love to perform live. Anywhere! I can't wait to do my next show/concert. At all of the shows I've done people have had a good time listening to me on stage and, most people are blown away when they don't know me because they think I'm going to sing. The reason? because I come on stage sometimes rockin Chritian Dior, Gucci, Channel, Prada and whatever I think looks good on me according to how I feel that day. Even when I'm not in a show and I'm with the people I consider my family in this business, everyone has good time.
