Harbinger Event (Album version -demo) Harbinger Event (Album version -demo)
This is a demo version of a new song. I call it the "album version" because I intend to compose and/or mix alternate versions. This song was composed using the same "visual" technique that I used for Miracle of Sequencers.

Drunken Cat Drunken Cat
I started work on this track shortly after completing the demo version of Harbinger Event. Currently, it's a very short jazz fusion piece.

Harbinger Event (Garage Mix) Harbinger Event (Garage Mix)
My first alternate mix of Harbinger Event. Like the original, it was done in 2009. It includes slightly different instrumentation and a whopping 5 seconds of additional music! :D

Chinatown Jam - acoustic Chinatown Jam - acoustic
I composed the main theme in this song circa 1988. Back then, it was purely pentatonic. While it is more or less in the key of B now, the pentatonic roots are still apparent. Like most of my songs from 1995, it is largely improvised.

Synthprov - Lament Over Lost Time Synthprov - Lament Over Lost Time
This synthprov was done in one take with no preconceived ideas. The use of string sounds gives it majestic feel. I think it's the most fluid of my improvs as much of it really doesn't sound improvised. Close your eyes and let it flow through you.

Improv 2 - Keep It Simple Improv 2 - Keep It Simple
This song has an improvised intro that leads into a simple chord progression that is played more aggressively with each iteration. Hence, the title. Needless to say, this is the least improvised of the 3 acoustic improvs.

Journey of the Decaffeinated Turtle Journey of the Decaffeinated Turtle
This song was originally called Journey of the Decapitated Turtle. I later decided to make it more humorous. It's a slow paced song with a prehistoric feel to it. It's a long song, but there are interesting bits upon careful listening.

Improv 3 - Going Away Reprise Improv 3 - Going Away Reprise
This is the final part in the series of short acoustic improvs that I did back in 1995. This is the only one where I used a preconceived melody and improvised around it. The main melody comes from my song Going Away. Hence, the "reprise".

Improv 1 - Flight to a Sudden End Improv 1 - Flight to a Sudden End
At just under 1.5 minutes this is the first song in a series of 3 short improvs. It is played on a Baldwin spinet upright. I just sat down and started playing without any preconceived ideas.

Going Away Going Away
I composed this song in memory of my Grandfather who died in 1993. It contains some set chords and melodies with improvisations intertwined between them. I used the same melody to build the Going Away Reprise improv.

Chinatown Jam - electric Chinatown Jam - electric
This electric version of the song does not include the "Taxi to Chinatown" intro found in the acoustic version. This is a more lively version that uses a heavily overdriven organ sound coupled with a sawtooth pad.

Miracle of Sequencers Miracle of Sequencers
This is the only multi-track song that I composed in 1994 and recorded to DAT in 1995. It was composed using a "visual" technique.
