I started playing a really cheap bad acoustic at 13. I gave up switched to drums
which I picked up naturally and by 16 playing in bands. By 18 had switched back
to guitar vocals then bass vocals. I moved to Ca and worked in studio doing
whatever needed including ghost vocals and some songwriting while working
in a printing shop. I moved back to NO's after lost of work and high cost of
living found a job in jewelry. I started singing playing with cover bands but
that got boring. I started writing recording again and doing acoustic 'rock'
gigs playing rockabilly classic country and originals. I'm currently still recording
newer and older songs playing all instruments and all vocals myself!
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I was always a shy kid and even now not comfortable around others but
I can jump on stage and that all goes away. I'm more comfortable on stage.
Your musical influences
I grew up with my Pop's music Elvis Carl Perkins rockabilly then class
country. Then my older brother 70's collection which of classic rock
and metal. But by 80's I was like most into the new wave and punk
and pop rock. I think 50's thru 80's is the best music and I try to
use all those influences in my songs. I think you can hear it when
listening that I have wide range of music styles but make it my own.
I call it Heavy Elvis! I always like singers with a deeper tone to their
vocals like Elvis, Tom Jones, Robert Gordon, James Dewar, Paul
Rodgers, Phil Lynott, Phil Moog, DIO and early David Coverdale.
I try to keep my vocals in that range without all the screaming.
I do all vocals in my songs including backing vocals as well.
What equipment do you use?
Right now a Fender acoustic for solo gigs but when I do play live with a band
I have a Ibanez Iceman bass Fender amp and a Epiphone Les Paul that I love.
