In 1992, Cardiff born producer EQ, was at his favourite club, when he heard the DJ play a tune that would change his attitude towards music for good. This was "Pullover" by Speedy J. After going mental on the dancfloor, EQ decided it was his turn to spin the dex, and has never looked back.
Starting off with a cheap second hand pair of turntables, and a made to fade mixer, EQ set out to perfect his hard and bouncy style, influenced by the likes of Tony de Vit, Ingo, Anne Savage, Brainbashers and 12" Thumpers amongst others, and soon got himself a warm up slot at the now extinct Forum nightclub. Tearing up the dancefloor with his unrelentless blend of hard house and techno, keeping it high nrg all the way, paved the way for his various appearances in South Wales and the West.
Not happy with just mixing other artists records, EQ, started to produce his own material, and came up with the hard house stomper that is "C'mon Dad", a bouncey hoover driven house track, with own vocals, this was the shape of things to come for EQ. These days EQ uses Reason 3 to produce his music, which is a far cry from the copy of "Music 3000" and Playstation 1 console he used to produce "C'mon Dad"
Signed to local up and coming label "Cymru am Beats", EQ has gone from strength to strength musically. 2006 has been quite a productive year for EQ, having got at least 50 tracks under his belt, 2007 can only promise to bring EQ to the forefront of hard dance, watch this space for all things EQ, including new releases, and collaborations.
