I'm MC Slim, or Chris Morris, CEO of Morris Records (trademark and copyright protected). All the music I write is under MC Slim. When MC Slim is not writing/recording music at the studio/s, he is operating Morris Records, working on new music, studying hip hop music, drawing/printing up flyers/cd cases/business cards, you can find MC Slim at some of the different venues around Detroit, or promoting the Morris Records compilation cd's and new music from Detroit artists.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I started rapping around 2008-2009, really just started doin it for fun, after my most recent band had broken up for different reasons, just started messin around with words and rhymes, getting the feel of rapping/writing rhymes, but i didnt start to take rapping seriously until about 2011-2012, when i started emcee-ing/performing, writing full, complete songs with a chorus instead of a verse or two, sometimes with homemade beats, serious old school influence and the music and the lyrics always comes straight from the heart. MC Slim is releasing a few different projects coming up in 2019. Look for new music from MC Slim and Morris Records coming soon. You can always find MC Slim or someone with Morris Records around Detroit, promoting up and coming local artists and upcoming shows/events, promoting/performing at music venues, clubs, restaurants, bars, coffee shops, open mics, rap showcases, and always working hard at the studio/s
